The staff at the guest house were extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or needs we had during our stay. The guest house was conveniently located just a short walk away from the beach and supermarkets, making it easy for us to access everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, which had all the necessary supplies for cooking. It was a nice touch that each room had its own set of dishes, ensuring hygienic measures were in place.
That there was no heater in the rooms, which could be a problem during colder seasons. Another issue was the limited space in the bathroom.

The value for money at this guest house was exceptional. The rooms were bright and comfortable, with an electric heater to keep us warm at night. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and the staff, especially Ruben, were kind and helpful throughout our stay.
The breakfast menu could use some improvement, particularly in terms of variety and options available.

I stayed at the Modern & Recycled Guest House for a week while exploring Madeira. The room was beautifully decorated and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The location on the Street of Bitterness was perfect, with plenty of great restaurants nearby. Ruben, the owner, was an amazing host who welcomed us with homemade cherry brandy and provided excellent recommendations for food. The atmosphere of the guest house was unique and well thought out, with a lovely communal kitchen and plenty of personal touches throughout. Definitely one of the top places I've stayed in my travels!
Do recommend this hotel.
